Description: marine recycling center. For plastic waste from the oceans. In Sotenäs municipality, Sweden's first Marine Recycling Center started in September 2018. Here we take care of marine waste collected from beach cleaning, used fishing gear from the fishing industry as well as ghost-fishing nets and cages collected from the sea. At the marine recycling center, the waste is dismantled and sorted into different fractions. We do this to minimize the part of waste that goes to landfill and incineration and to increase the amount of waste that goes to recycling and recycling.
