Description: Wegaw combines geospatial data with unique AI and machine learning algorithms to create the underlying climate tech solution that is supporting the energy sectors’ transition to a sustainable and clean energy future. This startup's highly accurate near real-time datasets are utilised by energy stakeholders, governments and national agencies for more than 30 power plants worldwide to help them detach from fossil fuels. Wegaw’s climate tech solution delivers bespoke environmental insights, such as snow accumulation, humidity, water content or wave height, in the most inaccessible regions in the world, in order to reduce renewable energy production imbalances, increase trading efficiencies, whilst attaining greater energy security and stablizing energy markets. With the support of the European Space Agency, the Swiss Energy Agency and with validation from The WSL Institute for Snow and Avalanche Research SLF, Wegaw is currently helping 17 clean energy producers and traders globally in 6 countries without the need for additional infrastructure investment. Wegaw also collaborates with government bodies and national agencies to reduce CO2 emissions and aid the international efforts for Net Zero goals. Shareholders of this Swiss / Spanish climate tech start-up include Bstartup (Banco Sabadell in Spain), Katapult.vc (Norway), Great Stuff Ventures (The Netherlands), Business Angels Switzerland and Seedrs (UK).
