Description: 15-20% of the world’s total energy consumption is used for cooling and air conditioning! Cooling compressors are used everywhere for cooling of food and provisions, air conditioning, heat pumps and dehumidification. For store- and property owners the costs for cooling are often hidden in the electricity bill but it often represents 40-60% of the total costs. The absolute majority of cooling systems do not function as efficiently as they should, with higher energy consumption and increased CO2 emissions as a result. ClimaCheck is a Swedish cleantech company with a unique method for analysis of cooling and heating processes, that enables optimising of heat pumps, refrigeration and air conditioning (HVACR) systems. ClimaCheck’s proven method often leads to energy savings of 10-30% and lowered CO2 Emission. Whilst also contributing to increased plant reliability, reduced equipment wear and lower operating expenses. WWF estimates that ClimaCheck could reduce CO2 emissions with 72 million tonnes if used by half of its target market by 2021.

Why I love this solution: In the HVACR-industry, the awareness of the saving potential is low, if the desired temperatures are met everyone is happy... Since very few measures and analyse their HVACR-systems performance, they are not aware of the potential. And “Business as usual” is still short term and reactive (only fix equipment when its failing). This is something ClimaCheck can change. Companies that are using ClimaCheck to analyse and optimise performance can change their way of work. This usually leads to lower energy consumption, the possibility to work with predictive maintenance and it will save the organisation money (short ROI). Today companies that are using ClimaCheck is decreasing the CO2 emission and energy consumption for companies every day. By being used by more companies the savings will be even bigger. And can potentially decrease CO2 emission by millions of tonnes.
