Personal / Community: Community project
Nature sub-categories: Ecosystem health
Description: Students from Largo High School started a marsh grass nursery by obtaining plugs from a donor site. They continued to grow the marsh grass with the help of a local organization called Tampa Bay Watch as part of their Bay Grasses in Classes program. Half of the nursery will be used for a habitat restoration project while the other half will be further divided into additional pots for further growth. Using this method, the nursery can be used in restoration projects for many years to come.

Why I love this solution: Students love this solution because it allows them to participate in a hands-on project that they can monitor over time. They like being able to give back to the community and help protect our coastlines from erosion.
