Description: Southampton is an industrial city filled with grey infrastructure. More green infrastructure should be put in place to counteract the grey. Examples being: interlinked green spaces (necklace effect used in New York) to attract and enhance biodiversity and walkability, continuous temperature control/shading. Joining the council, community groups and stakeholders to explore inventive ways to incorporate these spaces around and within the grey infrastructure. And also using kinetic renewable energy from the coastal tide and wind, making energy visual to the public by using the overshoot calculation, this awareness ultimately urging them to lower their footprint independently.

Why I love this solution: This solution has a huge spectrum and can be applied to cities globally. I believe the more the public are surrounded by greenery and are educated about its needs the faster we will reach our global goals to slowing down the damage that is being dealt everyday.
