Description: Our group of Civics course students initiated a project to help our community work towards meeting the UN SDG 13: Climate Action. We calculated the ecological footprint of our food using the BBC food carbon footprint calculator. https://www.bbc.com/future/bespoke/follow-the-food/calculate-the-environmental-footprint-of-your-food.html Then we analyzed the data and made changes to our diet. We were able to reduce the ecological footprint of our food by 25%. We then challenged the whole school to reduce their own food carbon footprint by 25%. We will report the results of our school wide initiative on Earth Day 2021.
