Why I love this solution: Because they have been fighting for it tooth and nail. The teachers, and even the management have given their blood sweat and tears in turning the tide of the city. It is not easy to draw people's attention towards what is truly important. This school has faced crippling financial challenges, betrayal, and survival threats. So far, they have come out winning. Their area of focus includes inculcating an interest towards birds, dragonflies, their favourite plants and a general spiritual awareness towards the planet. The children begin to learn mindfulness practices since the age of 3. By the age of 10, each child knows sustainable practices, importance of the local forests and how to develop a kitchen garden. The premises is mostly green, albeit limited by the local jurisdiction. However, the building employs features such as rat-trap bond, maximum wind and sun based architecture and an upcoming mini-forest and dragonfly pond.
