Description: I enjoy eating at Northstar Cafe and Brassica for many reasons. These restaurants incorporate sustainability into their architecture (ie. reclaimed wood, metals, and other non-virgin materials used for seating and structural support) as well as their foods. The majority of their food and beverage material is sourced from local suppliers, and restaurant staff earn fair wages and benefits.

Why I love this solution: When most people hear the term "sustainable agriculture," they don't often think of the end user outside of a general idea of the "consumer." Chain restaurants tend to serve highly processed foods that are unhealthy for the average person. While Northstar's and Brassica's price points are higher than most fast food chains, the quality of their food and ethical value of the supply chain make the experience of dining out a treat!
